Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators

Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator are home elevators composed of a vertical cylinder and a car that transports passengers inside.

Vacuum elevators have three main components

The external structure

The external structure cylinders of the vacuum elevator consists of aluminum columns available in five colors, and polycarbonate panels acting as walls to the cylinder, which are required to maintain the pressure system. The cyilnder structures are also impact resistance and transparent, so that the pneumatic vacuum elevator allows 360 ° visibility within the home.

The car

The car is the most important part of this residential elevator as it houses all of the communication and safety devices. The cabin seal is located at the top of the car, a key part to the function of the vacuum elevator. Inside the cabin are all of the safety components: car locks that anchor at each landing, the emergency safety brake, emergency stop switch, and alarm button.

These safety features make the vacuum elevator extremely safe and reliable. Inside passengers are transported in a fully welded Steel structure which provides security and stability. The PVE 30 and PVE37 cars are black, while the wheelchair accesible PVE52 model cabin is stainless steel. The pneumatic vacuum elevator has automatic lighting and ventilation in the car, an interior security door and connected to an emergency phone.

Vacuum Pump a.k.a. Head Unit

It is the “engine” or “machinery” of the vacuum elevator. Consisting of turbine motors, air valves, and electronic components, its mission is to remove air from inside of the cylinder to create a vacuum which then moves the car upward. To descend, the machinery and valves allow air back into the cylinder for a controlled and smooth descent. Our vacuum elevators operate with two different mounting formats of the vacuum pump: standard mount head with the machinery on top of the upper floor cylinder, and a split format which remotely locates the machinery up to 10 m away from the top of the vacuum elevator.
